Clinton Peabody Update

The following is an update on the city's efforts to end the mice infestation in the Clinton-Peabody homes:

On October 9, 2017, the Environmental Health Section conducted a blitz of the 30 buildings/units in the Clinton-Peabody Homes. The buildings will be divided into four (4) zones (see attached). Zone A and B began on 10-9-17. The Environmental Health Officers will make inspection attempts on each unit. If an Environmental Health Officer is unable to gain entry, a door tag with the inspector's information will be left on the premises with a phone number to contact. The compliance date for Zones A and B will be 10-16-17 (7 days). Simultaneously, Vector Control will be in Zone C and D placing door tags on each unit indicating that a Health Officer will be attempting conduct an inspection. 

The Program Manager will send an email to Cheryl Lovell, Executive Director and Sandi Thomas, Asset Manager from the St. Louis Housing Authority a list of units, the violations associated with each unit and the compliance date. The violation notices generated on 10-9-17 will be mailed and delivered to Sandi Thomas at 3520 Page Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63106 per her request. Environmental Health Officers will attempt to inspect units not inspected in Zone A and B on October 12-13, 2017.

On October 11, 2017, the Environmental Health Section will inspect Zone C and D. All environmental Health Officers will make inspection attempts on each unit. If an Environmental Health Officer is unable to gain entry, a door tag with the inspector's information will be left on the premises with a contact number to call. The compliance date for Zones C and D will be 10-18-17 (7 days). The Program Manager will send an email to Cheryl Lovell, Executive Director and Sandi Thomas, Asset Manager of the St. Louis Housing Authority a list of units, the violations associated with each unit and the compliance date. The violation notices generated on 10-11-17 will be mailed and delivered to Sandi Thomas at 3520 Page Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63106. Environmental Health Officers will attempt to inspect units not inspected in Zone C and D on October 12-13, 2017.

After October 18, 2017, the Environmental Health Officers will conduct a re-inspection blitz of all units in Zones A, B, C, D where violations were identified to check for compliance. If units show no signs of compliance, the Environmental Health Officer will refer the case to Attorney Erika Zaza.

    Question. Are the mice going to be exterminated, or just run out so that they can gop to neighboring peoples houses? And , how did the infestation start in the first place?
